JUST RECEIVE!
Luke 5:17-26 Paraphrased
And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judea, and Jerusalem, and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.
And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy, and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him in front of Jesus. And when they could not find any way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they climbed up on the housetop, and lowered him down with his cot through the roof tiling right in front of Jesus.
And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee. And the scribes and the Pharisees began to gripe, saying, Who does this guy think he is who speaks this garbage? Who can forgive sins, but God alone? But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answered them by saying, What's your problem? Which one is easier, to say Thy sins be forgiven you, or to say, Rise up and walk? But just so you know that I have the power upon earth to forgive sins, (he then said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto you, get up, and take up that cot, and go home.
And immediately he rose up before them, and picked up the cot that he was laying on, and went to his own house, glorifying God. And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with respect and Godly fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.
I don't believe that this scripture says that the power of the Lord was present to heal those who were present because Jesus was physically on site that day.
I think it does say that there were a group of know-it-alls who possessed the proper legal, government, church credentials, and religious training to be able to discern what was happening right before their very eyes, and who should have used that information to easily recognize who the person was who was standing before them. Instead, they chose to nit-pick about what Jesus was doing and to complain about what He was saying and how He was saying it.
If Jesus speaking his words of spirit and life then caused the power of the Lord to heal them who were present there, then the words of Jesus spoken aloud today will bring about the exact same power of the Lord to heal, deliver, and set free those that are in bondage, just as it had then, because according to Jesus, He and His words, are the same today as He (and they) were then. (Hebrews 13:8)
This is what I believe the scripture says. Let's not nit-pick and complain about who or where the message of God's Word comes from or looks like, let's just believe it and receive your needs met.
